Opencart to Shopify Data Migration for London Poster Shop

John runs a very successful poster shop in London and has been selling on eBay and ETSY for a number of years. His old Opencart website needed migrating to Shopify as it had become some bug ridden as it was so out of date and he was hardly seeing any activity let alone sales. I also improved and automated his product listings to help with the multi-channel side of the business.

I used the Litextension team once again for the bulk of the heavy data migration of ecommerce products, orders and customers. The Debut theme for Shopify was enough for John with a few tweaks to the code along the way. After so long with an awful site which customers couldn’t use, the main aim was to migrate to Shopify ASAP. I knew that just with getting him onto the Shopify would have a marked improvement on the technical SEO. This was evident in a very short period of time as SerpStat was showing a very positive uplift in keyword rankings for many keywords and mid-long term phrases; the low-hanging fruit so to speak.

The Shopify ‘app stack’ has been very light, the main improvement was the Bulk Image Edit Shopify app and all the necessary GDPR apps for compliance etc.
